After one day of installation, on the 17th, I decided to cancel my service with Dish because when I ordered, Dish's representative did not tell me the truth. most of the programming is old stuff and sports channels and spanish channels

why arent we able to choose our own networks if i am paying for 150 channels than that is what i would like to watch. we dont watch NFL,NHL,NBA,MLB. we only watch the Golf channel. it seems we are paying for everyone else to watch those channels. Also we dont watch Spaish channels or any other non english channels. tired of trying to find channels to watch something that isnt old.

The channels are decided contractually by the channel owner, which package they go in. The cost of the channels is subsidized by offering them in groups. This will be the same everywhere you go, as again, the packaging is decided by the channel owners contractually to be able to offer their channel.

Channel packages are not the same everywhere you go. You just assume that other providers have as septic a mix of available channels as DISH network.

All providers have the same basic layout for the same reason. Given above. Some providers may omit one channel and have another moved to another package as they may carry different amounts of packages. That is still contractual by the channel owner, whom is paid per subscriber not per viewer.

I'm tired of you taking channels off air...KOLR 10 Springfield, Mo. Funny it always happens during NFL playoff games...Why don' we get a refund ? I blame dish for this...I pay Dish not KOLR...It is Dishnetwork responsibility to make sure this don't happen...If this don't change very soon ...my household will be looking into all the many options ...We like Dish...FIX this NOW...If I miss another Cheifs game Sunday 29th...Not good...Thanks...No reply needed...just FIX it...

You can blame whomever you please, however the laws are perfectly clear. The channel owner is the only one with authority to remove a local channel from a provider. Also, a provider cannot mislead or lie, but the channel owner legally can, mainly because as you stated, you are a customer of the provider. You are not a customer of the channel owner.

They are abiding by their responsibility mutually agreed upon in your service agreement. This(including compensation) is included pretty expressly in there. You should take a moment to read it.

Got DISH Network? If so you haven't had any programming from WFXT 25 in Boston since November 28, 2022. WFXT 25 is, or rather was, the source of FOX programming for DISH victims in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. If you call DISH to ask why this basic service is unavailable they'll tell you it's because of Cox Media, the company that owns WFXT and 12 other...

my bill going way up

Likeliest answer is simple. You had credits or a promotion that expired and now paying closer to the regular rate.

Dish equipment & replacement

3 days ago, I started getting a message that HD signal was lost, receiver would display message then after long delay would change channel to SD. I’ve been a customer for 15 years & when an equipment issue happened Dish would resolve it - not now! Customer service is difficult to understand & a supervisor was impossible to understand due to very poor English. They were rude & insisted I upgrade. I won’t & may find an alternative.

Desired outcome: I want new equipment to replace what I have - not an upgrade. Rude supervisor said I would never be sent a new receiver

Your antenna needs realigned or your equipment is obsolete. Judging by their responses, your equipment is obsolete. Cancelling isn’t a threat, and gives you zero leverage. Just a heads up.

My bill

I called 12/21/2022
Talked to a manager and he offered me a different package since I'm on fixed income, and a widow.
I think the price he gave was $40.00 or $45.00 he would give me the same package his father has was plus taxes and local channels
But I would have to sign a new contract for 2 years I agreed
Got my bill today 1/18/2023 the bill was more $105.60
To Day January 1/18/2023 I called once asked for manager the representative was very nice and tried to transfer me but someone hung up I called back they hung up on me for no reason
I called again all together I waited on the phone way over 30 minutes
I called again a nice lady answer she was going to help me I waited 16 minutes they hung up
What is wrong with your Company do you want to give service or not Since when do Customer get treated like Dirt? We pay our bills, you receive the money WHY I ASK

billing after cancelling service

I called to request a return box since I wanted to cancel the service and was told that I didn't need to return the equipment. That was back in 10/1922. I have been billed every month there after. I have called before and was told that it was never cancelled so she was doing it then and that was in 11/22 or first of 12/22. I have been billed every month since. This all started because I had internet and tv service with you but the internet (huges) could not provide me with good sevice. I would like a fund for dec 22 and jan 23. Please reply to this so I don't have to take other steps to stop the billing.

Dish removing channels

Dish has removed NESN, FOX, and now METV from the channel lineup. Issue is they will not reduce the monthly cost of their service to compensate for the loss of three channels that I personally spent over 85% of my viewing time on.

When I called to see if I could at least get a bill adjustment all I got from Dish was they could sign me up for a new contract and lock me in for yet another two years! Doesn't solve the problem, doesn't get me back the three channels I pay for and want, frankly an insult. They are the cause of the issue and I consider it a breech of contract on their part and am contemplating legal action against them. For what it is worth I have the premium package at $188 per month! They are thieves!

Desired outcome: Want my channels back or my bill reduced to reflect the loss of 85% of my TV viewing. If they reduce cost it can not include another two to three year commitment with the same loss of channels.

The loss of these channels Fox MeTv etc happens every year. I have been a customer since 2017 and Fox is always being cut off. I was told it was a part of my local channel and free. Apparently I was misinformed. I am looking into another service, because of the high bill here I can go somewhere cheaper, with or without Fox. I will never have dish again.

Breach of contract would require them to breach a specific part of the contract, not just a feeling. Considering you do not pay per channel, and your agreement already covers the loss and addition of channels, and that you agreed you expect no compensation, probably not going to get too far. Oh, then there is the pesky arbitration clause. You waived your right to a lawsuit.

Dish Newtwork Issues

Since upgrading to Joey four I have to reboot my Hopper Three several times per day. Currently I have having the following problems that cause me to reboot:

1. Play each errors on Live TV or DVR

2. Screen overlay freezes on top of TV show and can not be removed with the back button.

3. Screen Freezes during play.

4. Some of the apps that were playing now produce nothing but a black screen.

My wife and I are getting very frustrated with our Dish Service.

On Demand

Why is it, that after downloading a Dish On Demand program, I go to play it, and it says that the even has expired. I can see the program in my "On Demand" folder, where it says "Rented/On Demand". But, when I go to watch it, I get an error message that says "The event has expired". How can it be expired, when I literally just downloaded it 5 minutes ago, and haven't watched it yet.

Desired outcome: I'd like your Dish On Demand to work. It's part of the service I pay for, so it should work as expected. I've seen other complaints of this same thing. What is being done about it.

You’ll get that if you try to watch something you’re not subscribed to, but have temporary access such as the free preview channels.

Entrega de mercancia receiver

Fui cliente de dish network por un periodo de 3 anos y me dio de baja hace como 3 meses y le he pedido que me envien una caja para devolverles el equipo que tengo. Estos no me da un traking number para dale seguimiento y poder devolverolver el quipo atraves de ups en puerto rico. Especficamente el el area de arecibo, pr. Ellos me amenazan con cobrarme el equipo pero si ellos no me envian una caja con el sello para devolverlo yo no puedo hacer nada. Por favor de atender mi reclamo a ver de que forma yo les puedo hacer llegar ese equipo. Muchas gracias

Local Fox station(s)

We have been without a local Fox station for about two months. Negotiations must by now be at a standstill!

Therefore, I am now seeking other services because of your inability to negotiate and as I see it your breach of contract on this matter.

Someone is not seeking a result/not doing due diligence!

I hope you all can resolve this matter before I return your equipment!

The clock is ticking!

I switched from Direct TV in November and am beginning to think that I made a wrong decision.

Your "new" software must be being "tested in production"!

There are too many quirks/kinks that should have never gotten out of your test labs to list here, however I'll list a few:

I usually have to reset at least one Joey every day and the Hopper weekly.

The voice remote is so slow that I never use it any more.

Most times when I pause live tv, when playback starts its "jerky" & usually "burps" then skips forward back to live tv not allowing viewing most of the recorded "stuff"

Unsolved me contract and dish satellite

I still want to know about a solution for me tv channel satellite tv i, as this I have paying money, without, refund I like to watch twilight zone, and alfred hitchcock, and it's now automatically, shut of contract services from dish, cause, this is beyond the consumers' control, for anyone to watch this chanel, and benefits, none.

This has recently happened, I watch these programs, while there is a contract, something, and this is the only explanation, that I have got.

I am wondering why such a issue?

What is concerning this problem for you as dish providers, and channels, cant figure, and what is the problem for this contract resolution, and is this just to have different shows, on this channel or is this just a matter, of a solution, of coming with a different time schedule, for shows, and when they should allow the programming.

The dispute is the contract between provider and channel owner expired. They are negotiating terms for a new contract, but the channel owner wants more money than the value of the channel. That means any increase to Dish will be an increase to the customer. Dish is reducing that amount. As a tactic to get a contract with a higher payment, the channel owner removed the channel from Dish, causing you to be mad at Dish.

Price increases and less service

Have been a customer of theirs for more than 20 years and still have the receiver that I originally got, was not offered a update to newer one , can only record one show or whatever at a time and to top it off they have dropped Fox local channel and now it is Christmas Day and there is not one single football game on tv today and hasn’t been, had to turn on radio to know what was going on. Seriously considering switching networks as Fox is lousy now.

Desired outcome: Either updating my equipment and restoring Ch. 30. Or I’m gone.

There wasn’t a DVR 20 years ago… and SD equipment no longer works. They have gone obsolete. So there is definitely something wrong with your post as the equipment doesn’t make sense.

Removal of channels from our DISH Network

We are LONGTERM customers. Out of the hundreds of channels we have to pay for in order to get the few we want- You have taken away channels that we watch. Why do we have to pay the same monthly charge?! This has gone on for several weeks now. Specifically channels 7 and 26 dayton ohio.

This is BS ! You should have completed negotiations in advance of deleting service to your customers.

Looking at alternative providers since you can't seem to get things together.

You dont pay for any specific channel. Also, Dish did not take any local channel away. They do not have the legal authority to do so. Only the channel owner does. The channel owner took your channels away and wants you to pay more money. You're literally demeaning to be charged more.

High renewal price

My renewal went from $79 to $104 per month. I sent an e-mail to the Dish CEO and got a response to get back with him. So far no response. We are Senior citizens on Social Security and this raise hurts. We asked for Senior discounts and were told there were none. When I checked one your package site there was one for $79. I would hope something can be done with the new price. Better yet have Mr. Carlson call me @[protected]
